3.4-magnitude quake strikes off Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur early Sunday, Sept. 8. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 8 kilometers northeast of Cortes at 2:39 a.m. Depth of focus was 31 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
