Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over parts of Mindanao

PHL to receive 3000 COVID-19 test kits from Singapore

(Eagle News)–Singapore is donating 3000 coronavirus disease 2019 kits to the Philippines. This is according to Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., who made the announcement in a Tweet on Sunday, March 22. According to Locsin, Singapore will also give one thermal cycler or PCR machine. The machine is used for diagnosis. The Philippines has so far recorded 380 COVID-19 cases and 25 deaths.  

3.9-magnitude quake hits Negros Occidental; no damage to property recorded

(Eagle News)–A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck Negros Occidental today. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 10:52 a.m., had its epicenter 10 kilometers northwest of Cauayan. It had a depth of focus of 22 kilometers. The following instrumental Intensities were recorded: Intensity II – Bago City, Negros Occidental Intensity I – La Carlota City, Negors Occidental No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Santa Rosa, Laguna confirms second COVID-19 case

(Eagle News)–Santa Rosa, Laguna  has confirmed its second coronavirus disease 2019 case. In a Facebook post, the Santa Rosa City government said that  the second case was a resident of a subdivision in Barangay Macabling. “Contact tracing is now being undertaken by the city government and health officials,” the Santa Rosa government said. It said home quarantine shall be strictly implemented.

Two other Filipinos test positive for COVID-19 abroad

(Eagle News)–The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that another two Filipino nationals tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 abroad. In an advisory, the DFA said one was confined in local health facility in Brunei. He is in stable condition, according to the Ministry of Health of Brunei Darussalam.
