3.5-magnitude quake hits Sultan Kudarat; no damage to property

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Sultan Kudarat today. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 5:48 a.m., had its epicenter 13 kilometers southeast of Columbio. It had a depth of focus of 24 kilometers. The following instrumental intensities were recorded: Instrumental Intensities: Intensity II – Kidapawan City Intensity I – Koronadal City No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Cloudy skies, isolated rainshowers forecast in parts of PHL

(Eagle News)–Cloudy skies and isolated rainshowers are expected in parts of the country today. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly  cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms as the easterlies affect the country. PAGASA said flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms are possible. Northern Luzon will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

European clinical trial starts on possible coronavirus treatments

  A European clinical trial involving some 3,200 people has been launched to test four possible experimental treatments against the coronavirus.
