(Eagle News) — Following her gold medal finish in the 2018 Asian Games, the Philippine Air Force promoted Hidilyn Diaz to sergeant, and gave her the Outstanding Achievement Medal.
Diaz had the rank of Airwoman First Class prior to her promotion.
PAF said this was effective August 28, 2018, “subjected to EP promotion system in the (Armed Forces of the Philippines).”
“AW1C Diaz gave lasting honor not only for herself but also for the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” PAF said.
Diaz gave the Philippines its first gold in the 2018 Asian Games in the women’s 53 kilograms weightlifting event.
