Over 300 have so far availed of free Cavite-Manila ferry service – DOTr

Authorities on Sunday, Dec. 8, launched a new ferry service from Cavite City to Metro Manila in a bid to decongest traffic in Metro Manila. The ferry service will be operational starting Monday, December 9./PCOO/

(Eagle News) — More than 300 passengers have availed of the free Cavite-Manila ferry service recently launched by the Department of Transportation.

According to the DOTr, as of  Dec. 11, 177  passengers availed of the MB Islang Sabtang’s Cavite-Lawton route.

Over 100, or 163 people, on the other hand, took the MB Seaborne Mercury trip from Cavite to the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Earlier, authorities said the MB Seaborne Mercury would offer the free ferry services for a month from the date of launch, or on Dec. 8, while MV Island Sabtang’s free ferry services would last until January 31, 2020.

The DOTr had said the newly launched ferry services were aimed at decongesting Metro Manila.
