MANAGUA, Nicaragua (AFP) — Peasants in southern Nicaragua, whose lands will be expropriated for a project to build an Atlantic-Pacific canal, fear that President Daniel Ortega’s reelection will have a negative impact on their communities because of their opposition to the venture.
