(Eagle News) – The government has increased the buying price for palay or unmilled rice to P19 per kilo from the previous P17 per kilo, according to Agriculture Secretary William Dar.
This was decided upon by the National Food Authority (NFA) Council on Sept. 10.
But the NFA, because of lack of funds, also decided to remove the P3.70 incentive given to farmers which covers the P3 buffer stocking fee, the 20 centavo delivery fee, 20 centavo drying fee, and 30 centavos for cooperative incentive fee.
