Critics and fans wasted no time to speak their mind on the Lakers’ rookie’s performance in his debut of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, NV. The anticipations were high from the Lakers and basketball fans alike to see the young man from Los Angeles get a glimpse of what the future may hold for the young player and the decorated ball club.

Cheers and jeers fell flat as the game progressed leaving the Lakers short of a win in their loss to the Clippers Friday evening 96-93. Ball finished with five points from 2 of 15 shooting, five assists, four rebounds, and three turnovers. But NBA players took to Twitter to show the support for the young star in his debut deeming the Summer League as a mere stage to play and do what his name says to do: Ball.

The Lakers met their long time rivals, the Celtics, where they met the number three draft pick, Jayson Tatum out of Duke, on the court. Lonzo was given a chance to redeem himself with more support than from just his dad. This rivalry may be just enough spark for the kid to ball out and give them a little bit of magic blessed by the showtime father himself, Magic Johnson. Lonzo Ball finished with a triple double with eleven points, eleven rebounds, and eleven assists. Despite the loss to Boston, things are continuing to trend upward.
