LOS ANGELES, United States (AFP) — Center Hassan Whiteside has a sprained ligament in his right knee and is questionable for Monday’s game four of the Miami Heat’s second round playoff series against the Toronto Raptors.

Whiteside was diagnosed with the injury after an MRI exam on Sunday, one day after Whiteside left game three against the Raptors.

Miami officially listed Whiteside as day-to-day but released few other details of the injury.

Depending on the seriousness it can sideline a player for two weeks or longer.

“He had an MRI today,” coach Erik Spoelstra said. “It went as well as could be expected.

“Where my mind was, where Hassan’s mind was leaving the building last night, that’s about the best news that we could have. He’s day-to-day and he’s just going to be doing treatment, a lot of rest.”

Whiteside reinjured his knee during the second quarter of Saturday’s game after originally spraining the knee during the opening game of the series.

Toronto leads the series two games to one.
