Mobile World Congress 2016 ends with record-breaking attendance

BARCELONA, Spain (Eagle News) — Mobile is everything and indeed, everything mobile was at the record-breaking Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC16) where Eagle Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) sent delegates for the very first time in Barcelona, Spain held last February 22-25, 2016.

EBC Business Development Manager Robert Capistrano and Correspondent Caesar Vallejos joined a record-breaking 101,000 attendees from 204 countries and territories around the world.

Products and solutions that change the way the world communicates including new gadgets, virtual reality, new applications, privacy protection and IT solutions were just some of the exhibits showcased at the Fira Gran Via and FiraMontjuïc.  It was participated in by more than 2,000 companies around the globe.

Country pavilions from nearly 40 countries and territories from around the world also featured innovative ideas from their respective nations.

Experts and leaders of consumer brands, mobile organizations, mobile operators and industries that affect the mobile industry – from advertising, broadcasting  and entertainment to banking and education – provided a peek of the innovations that are expected to further revolutionize the industry.

For the EBC delegation, the most relevant highlight of MWC16 was the Mobile, Media, Innovation and Experience (The MMIX) Summit where expert analysis, insights and new perspectives on content strategies from leading content value chain players and innovators were discussed, highlighting how a mobile-first approach to media is the way to go.

Some of the powerhouse speakers of The MMIX include influencers from CNN, Google, Youtube, Twitter, Getty Images and Sony Mobile.

Despite the transport strike and a few protests in Barcelona, MWC16 was not hampered to deliver what it promised to do – be the center stage for digital empowerment, digital transformation and digital innovation.
