MMDA announces alternative routes in Manila; INC’s Worldwide Walk to Fight Poverty set

(Eagle News) — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday, May 3, advised motorists to take alternative routes as a part of Roxas Boulevard in Manila will be closed starting Saturday, May 5 midnight.

MMDA Deputy Chariman Frisco San Juan said that in particular, both the northbound and southbound lanes of Roxas Boulevard from Buendia to Padre Burgos will be closed due to the expected influx of participants in the Iglesia ni Cristo’s Worldwide Walk to Fight Poverty.

Diosdado Macapagal, Buendia and Taft will be used by the participants in the charity walk, the MMDA said.

The service road, however, will be open to motorists.

According to the MMDA, below are the following alternate routes:

  • From Radial Road 10 (R-10)/Anda Circle, turn left at Andres Soriano Jr., right at Gen. Luna St., Straight at Maria Orosa St., right at T.M. Kalaw, left at M.H Del Pilar St. to destination and vice versa
  • From A. Bonifacio Drive, left at P. Burgos, turn right at Maria Orosa St., right at T.M. Kalaw, left at M.H. Del Pilar St. to destination and vice versa
  • From A. Bonifacio, turn left at P. Burgos, right at Taft Avenue to destination and vice versa
  • From P. Burgos, turn right at Finance Road, left at Ayala Boulevard, right at San Marcelino, left at U.N. Avenue, right at Pres. Quirino Ave., and left at South Super Highway to destination
  • From P. Burgos, turn right at Finance Road, right at Taft Avenue, left at Pres. Quirino., and right at South Super Highway to destination.

The MMDA has said it would deploy around 200 personnel for the event.
