MIAA: Over 300 flight arrivals, departures since flight ops resumed at NAIA

(Eagle News)-Over 300 flights have already left and arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport since flight operations there resumed on Monday, the Manila International Airport Authority said.

According to MIAA, the 360 flights were  from 10 a.m. yesterday until 7 a.m today.

MIAA said  a total of 516  flights were affected by the  temporary suspension of NAIA operations on Monday, January 12,  due to Taal’s volcanic activity.

Of that number, MIAA said 283 are arriving flights while 233 were  departures.

“We began accepting recovery flights from 10PM last night to 4AM this morning. We lifted the daily maintenance closure. We will do it again tonight until airlines are able to fully recover,” MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal said.

Monreal again appealed to passengers to keep checking with the airlines or travel agents the status of their flight before proceeding to NAIA.
