TOKYO, Japan (AFP) — The Mexican peso slumped to a record low against the dollar Wednesday as results in the US presidential election pointed to Donald Trump making a strong showing against Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House.

The unit, which has become a proxy for the property mogul’s chances of becoming US president, slumped to below 20 against the dollar, an historic low.
