Medal of Valor awardees, their first-degree kin now exempted from paying terminal fees in all PPA ports

(Eagle News)–Medal of Valor awardees and their first-degree kin are now exempt from paying passenger terminal fees in all Philippine Ports Authority-owned ports starting Oct. 18.

This was after PPA General Manager Jay Daniel Santiago signed Administrative Order No. 8-2019 “in recognition of the services and acts of heroism” displayed by the military personnel.

The Department of Transportation said this was by virtue of PPA Administrative Order No. 08 – 2019 issued on September 24, as directed by Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, “in recognition of the soldiers’ service, patriotism and heroism.”

Santiago said the military personnel and their first-degree dependents can avail of the exemption upon presentation of a Medal of Valor identification card issued by the Armed Forces of the Philippines at the terminal fee counters.
