MBT: Makati stay undefeated, Pasay and Taguig prevail

Taguig City – Pasay Travel City won their first game of the tournament against the Las Piñas Home Defenders in a close fight, 70-67 at the Hagonoy Sports Complex.

Rysel Reyes led Travel City with 17 points, four boards and two steals while shooting 66% from the field. He got help from Iverson Morales who contributed with 15 points and five rebounds while Gerald Balajonda added 12 points.

In the loss, Jejomar Buergo led the team with 19 points and six rebounds while Ryan Orate had a notable double-double performance 15 points and twelve rebounds for the Home Defenders.

In the battle of the undefeated teams in the second game, Makati Skyscrapers came on top to beat Paranaque Green Beret by the score of 77-67. Joaquin Mercado filled up the stat sheet with 17 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two steals.

Makati’s defense held Paranaque to just sink 36% of their shots but despite the loss, the Green Beret had good numbers from Jose Miguel Milan who had 12 points while Kyle Cuevas battled the boards to grab eleven rebounds to go with his 10 points.

The home team, Taguig Generals conquered the Muntinlupa Eagles, 66-58, to give them their third loss of the tournament.

Reynaldo Mutangpili came off the bench scored a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds while Jiro Sevilla had 12 points and eight boards for the Generals. The Eagles Lindberg Pantaleon led all scorers with 18 points in the loss.
