Malacañang welcomes financial assistance on drug rehab programs from EU

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Malacañang has welcomed the financial assistance offered by the European Union on government drug rehabilitation programs.

Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said that the Duterte administration will not turn away any financial aid – even from EU – as long as said aid is unconditional.

“As the Duterte administration gains ground in the war on drugs, the Palace welcomes all plans and offers of help without conditions for the country’s drug rehabilitation program including those coming from the European Union,” presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella.

“We also expect better ties between PH and EU noting that there are issues for stronger areas of cooperation such as trade, justice and security, and economic development,” Abella added.
