(Eagle News) — Malacanang said that it is letting the Department of Justice to decide whether to file criminal cases against outgoing Philippine National Police chief General Oscar Albayalde.
“Mahirap magsalita dyan dahil hindi naman tayo ang investigator e. It’s the prosecutor who will determine the existence of a probable cause,” said Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo in a press briefing in Malacanang on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
He said that the result of the Senate investigation could also have a bearing on this.
Panelo also stressed that Albayalde could no longer be charged administratively once he retires from the PNP.
“Wala na, kasi kung wala na siya sa PNP,” he said.
