LRT-2 ops to begin earlier starting Monday, Oct. 14

(Eagle News)–Operations of the Light Rail Transit 2 will start earlier beginning Monday, Oct. 14.

In an advisory, the LRT- 2 said trains will start ferrying passengers at 5 a.m., an hour earlier than before.

The free rides for students, the LRT-2 said, will be offered from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m., and from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. “from Monday to Friday, except holidays.”

Earlier, the LRT-2 temporarily suspended operations after a rectifier near Katipunan station caught fire.

LRT-2 operations from Cubao to Recto and back resumed right after but trips at the Anonas, Katipunan and Santolan stations remained suspended.

The LRT-2 said it may take at least 9 months before the management could fully restore operations.
