(Eagle News) — Two survivors trapped in the collapsed four storey building in Porac town in Pampanga were pulled out of the rubble alive by rescue teams that worked through the night Monday, April 22.
Rescue, search and retrieval operations are still underway in collapsed building site in Porac town, where a grocery store, Chuzon Supermarket, was housed in its ground floor.
Teams are working to get more people trapped in the rubble.
As many as 30 people were reportedly still trapped inside the collapsed building. A fourth fatality was recovered by search teams, as of Tuesday, April 23. This could bring to six the number of dead due to the quake in Pampanga alone.
As this developed, Pampanga governor Lilia Pineda is considering declaring a state of calamity in the province following extensive damage suffered because of the 6.1 magnitude quake.
The Porac town mayor Condralito dela Cruz has already declared a state of calamity in the municipality following reports of extensive damage and more casualties in other barangays.
Members of the SCAN International in Pampanga are also helping out in the search and retrieval operations in Porac.
