‘Lola Igna’ wins “Best Picture,” other major awards at the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino

The movie ‘Lola Igna’ won Best Picture, Best Musical Score and Best Screen Play at the recent Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino Awards Ceremony on September 15, 2019, at the one Esplanade in Pasay City.

Actress Angie Ferro who plays the main character of the film, “Lola Igna” also won Best Actress award, directed by award-winning director Eduardo Roy Jr.

“This is my first starring role,” Ferro told Eagle News in an interview during the gala night.

The film’s director Eduardo Roy Jr., said he was overwhelmed with the “Best Picture” award.

Sobrang saya, (very happy) overwhelmed, hindi ini-expect na mananalo kami (we did not expect to win), Best Picture.  Halos lahat ng sampung naglalaban-laban sobrang halos lahat magaganda (All the entries were very good films) so very grateful, very thankful sa Ama. (To God).” Roy said.
