(Eagle News) — Senate President Tito Sotto has tested negative for illegal drugs.

This is according to drug test results presented by Sotto himself to the media on Thursday, Aug. 23.

The results, which showed Sotto was negative for cocaine, ecstacy, methamphetamine, morphine, and tetrahydrocannabinol,  stemmed from a surprise drug test Sotto himself announced in the Senate last month.

Earlier, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said he also tested negative for illegal substances.

He challenged President Rodrigo Duterte and his family to undergo a drug test, but the Palace said the President would undergo the same if he wanted to, and not because Trillanes had told the chief executive to do so.
