Kuwaiti authorities issue arrest warrant for police suspect in the rape of Filipina OFW, says DFA

(Eagle News) – The Department of Foreign Affairs is now “closely coordinating with the Kuwaiti authorities for the speedy arrest” of a Kuwaiti police officer who is the suspect in the rape of a Filipina household service worker.

The DFA , in a tweet, said that the Philippine embassy in Kuwait reported that authorities there had already issued an arrest warrant for the suspect, Mr. Fayed Naser Hamad Alajmy, a 22-year-old Kuwaiti Police Officer.

The Philippine embassy reported to the DFA that “Alajmy was the one who assisted the OFW for finger scanning registration at the airport upon her arrival in Kuwait on 4 June.”

“It was alleged that Mr. Alajmy later kidnapped and assaulted the OFW,” the DFA said statement posted on twitter said.

Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Mohd Noordin Lomondot is already closely coordinating with the Kuwaiti authorities so that the police officer would soon be arrested.

The DFA said that the Philippine government “will exert all efforts to ensure that justice is served.”
