(Eagle News) – Paraffin tests done by the police on the slain Grade 11 student Kian Loyd delos Santos showed he was negative for gunpowder nitrates, which meant he did not fire a gun contrary to the arresting policemen’s claim.

“Both hands of the cadaver do not contain gunpowder nitrates,” said the results of the Philippine National Police’s paraffin tests on Kian’s body.

“The qualitative examination conducted on the paraffin cast taken from both hands of the cadaver gave negative results to the tests for gunpowder nitrates,”  the report from the Northern Police District Crime Laboratory Office said.

The tests were made on the specimen submitted to the NPD crime laboratory.

The specimen was “a pair of paraffin casts taken from both hands” of the victim Kian.

Contradiction in PNP, PAO autopsy results

On Wednesday, the PNP Crime Laboratory also said that the teenager had two gunshot wounds in the head, particularly inside the ear, and behind the left ear.

The PNP Crime Laboratory on Wednesday said 17-year-old Kian Loyd delos Santos suffered two gunshot wounds, both to his head.

“There are two gunshot wounds sa ulo, sa tenga at sa likod ng tenga. Both lumabas o nag-exit. Left ang entry, right ang exit,” said Dr. Jane Monzon, PNP Crime Lab medico-legal officer, in a press conference Wednesday.

The Public Affairs Office (PAO) had also conducted its own autopsy and found three gunshot wounds in Kian’s body: inside the ear, at the back of the left ear, and the third entry at the back of the body.

But the third gunshot entry at the back of the body reported by PAO’s autopsy was not in the PNP’s autopsy results. The PNP claimed that Kian only suffered two gunshot wounds in the head.

KIan’s family on another autopsy:  “Tama na po”

Meanwhile, the Delos Santos family said they no longer wanted Kian’s body to undergo more autopsy, saying it hurts them to see the slain teenager being subjected to so many tests.

The family said that Kian’s body would be buried on Saturday, instead of the earlier provided schedule of Sunday.

Earlier, they thanked President Rodrigo Duterte after he vowed there would be a thorough and fair probe on Kian’s death.

They also thanked him for saying that the policemen who had killed Kian would go to jail if proven that there had been a “rubout.”
