VENICE, Italy (Reuters) — Fans went wild for Hollywood star Jennifer Lawrence as she appeared on the red carpet in Venice for the world premiere of her real-life partner Darren Aronofsky’s movie “Mother!”.
Fans had camped outside the red carpet overnight to make sure they would be well positioned to catch a glimpse of the 27-year-old Academy Award winner.
In the film, Lawrence plays Mother, a young wife who lives with her poet husband — Javier Bardem — in a secluded country house. While he is trying to overcome a serious bout of writer’s block, she is busy restoring his family home.
Their seemingly idyllic existence starts falling apart when unexpected guests — starting with Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer — arrive at their doorstep.
“Mother!” is one of 21 U.S. and international movies vying for the Golden Lion which will be awarded on Sept. 9.
