Internationally-acclaimed director Cuevas now part of EBC family

(Eagle News) — London Film Festival’s “best director for a foreign language film” Carlo Jay Ortega Cuevas is the newest addition to the Eagle Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) family.

The award-winning director of INCinema’s “Walang Take Two” has recently signed up as one of the directors of EBC’s Entertainment department.

Cuevas, who also recently won the Platinum World Award as “World Newcomer Filmmaker of the Year” at the recent World Film Awards in Jakarta, Indonesia, is the director of “Hapi ang Buhay,” a spin-off sitcom of “Walang Take Two.”

The director would also help out in other entertainment programs of EBC.

Currently, “Hapi ang Buhay” is one of the top rating programs of EBC’s Entertainment TV shown at NET 25.  The sitcom also features some of the cast members of the award-winning independent film “Walang Take Two” which has recently gained acclain in film festivals in London, Madrid and most recently in Jakarta.

Aside from being nominated for “Best Picture,” the film also bagged the Golden World Award for “International Film” at the recent World Film Awards in Jakarta.

At the 2016 International Film Festival of World Cinema in London, the film was also nominated as best comedy feature film.

At the Madrid International Film Festival, INCinema’s “Walang Take Two” received three nominations – Best Film, Best Director of a Foreign Language Feature Film, and Best Cinematography in a Foreign Language Film

The winners at the Madrid filmfest will be known on July 2 during the awards night in Madrid, Spain.

The “Walang Take Two” sitcom “Hapi ang Buhay” is shown on Net 25, every Saturday at 4 to 5 p.m., with replays on Sunday at 9 p.m.
