(Eagle News) – The Iglesia Ni Cristo’s Worldwide Walk to Fight Poverty officially started at 6 a.m. on Sunday, May 6 as hundreds of thousands of participants walked simultaneously in more than 300 sites across 18 time zones around the world in a historic global charity walk.

At the main site in Manila’s scenic Roxas Boulevard, organizers introduced the two official Guinness adjudicators on the stage before the walk started, Adam Brown and Lucia Sinigagliesi.

“We also have three other Guinness world records adjudicators with us here in Manila. They are here to verify as we witness five official Guinness world record titles being attempted by the Iglesia Ni Cristo today,” Brown said.

The five official Guinness attempts of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) are the following: the largest human sentence, the largest picture mosaic formed by people, the largest charity walk in a single venue, most nationalities in a charity walk, and the largest charity walk in multiple venues.

As the participants in Roxas Boulevard in Manila and 200 other sites in the Philippines walked, other participants from other countries in more than a hundred sites across 18 time zones also did a simultaneous walk – from the whole of Asia, Europe, South America, North America, Australia and the Pacific Islands, and in Africa which is the beneficiary of the INC’s global charity walk.
