(Eagle News) — The bell tower of the 18th century Catholic church in Porac, Pampanga, St. Catherine of Alexandria, suffered major damages after the 6.1 magnitude quake that hit the Philippine island of Luzon on Monday, April 22.

Its bell tower was destroyed as can be seen in the photos.  Some of the church’s statues were also toppled down by the strong quake.

The church is just one of the many heritage Catholic churches that were ordered closed by the Archdiocesan Committee on Church Heritage of Pampanga for inspection for possible damages.
