Immigration bureau deploys more personnel in airports for ASEAN delegates

Special teams of immigration officers were recently formed to assist Association of Southeast Asian Nations delegates and other foreign visitors who are expected to arrive aboard chartered or special flights in time for the ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings next week.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente reported that some 50 immigration officers were deployed to international airports to augment manpower in preparation for the ASEAN Leaders summit which will be held in Pasay City and Pampanga.

These officers will help oversee and facilitate the proper and orderly processing of the arriving of foreign dignitaries and delegates.

Expected to arrive in the country next week are 21 world leaders.

The advance parties and other members of their delegations have already started arriving last week.
