IDAHO, U.S. (Reuters)– From the longest fingernails to the oldest bodybuilder, the new Guinness World Records Book 2018 is packed with quirky feats.
“The Guinness World Records 2018 is packed with thousands of new records and never before seen photographs, as we ever cover the vast spectrum of topics from the daring and the awe inspiring to the quirky and the fun,” says editor Craig Glenday.
The 63rd edition of the iconic annual book brings record-breaking and bizarre accomplishments from animals and individuals from around the globe.
Like in Texas where nail artist Ayanna Williams has grown her fingernails for nearly 23 years. They are now 576.4 centimeters (18 ft. 10.9 in) long and won her the title for the Longest Fingernails on a Pair of hands by a female.
From Los Angeles, Jim Arrington has won the title of the Oldest Bodybuilder at 85 years-old.
Also from the U.S., in Michigan, cat owners Lauren and William Powers present Arcturus and Cygnus, who won the record title for the tallest cat and cat with the longest tail.
The new book brings photos and unpublished stories and aims to “educate and inspire the wide world of record-breaking triumphs,” according to the publisher’s press release.
The Guinness World Records 2018 is released on September 7.
