The Philippine government is focusing on the safety of more than 2 million Filipinos based in the Middle East after tensions increased between Saudi Arabia and Iran after the former severed its diplomatic ties with Iran in the aftermath of the attack on the Saudi embassy in Iran, as Iranian rallyists protest the imposition of the death penalty of Saudi Arabia on Iranian Shi’ite clerics.
