Gov’t allocates Php 1.4B fund for relief operations, victims of typhoon Rosita

(Eagle News) — Government has allocated Php 1.4 billion for relief operations for the victims of Typhoon Rosita.

Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo said the fund was given to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

According to Panelo, President Duterte ordered the immediate distribution of the said fund to help and tend to the needs of those affected by the typhoon.

Duterte is personally monitoring the situation, and is receiving regular updates from the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC), Office of the Civil Defense (OCD), and the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Malacañang also appealed to the residents to follow the advice of the various local government units, and government agencies in charge of monitoring the typhoon to avoid more casualties and damages.
