Gadon: I don’t care if I’m disbarred as long as Sereno is removed from office

(Eagle News) — Lawyer Larry Gadon on Friday, April 13, said he does not mind being disbarred for as long as Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno was removed from the post.

Gadon issued the statement after an official of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines said his demeanor in Baguio during oral arguments on the quo warranto petition filed against Sereno could be a ground for an ethics complaint.

Gadon, who has filed a separate impeachment complaint against Sereno, was seen cursing at Sereno’s supporters on Tuesday, April 10.

He has, however, said that he was merely provoked.

“I don’t care if I am disbarred, I will still eat delicious food and live comfortably, I don’t depend on income from lawyering alone unlike some IBP officials,” he said.

He said if any, “by then, I would have done a humble service and contribution to the meaningful reform of the judiciary.”

“I will also file (a) disbarment case against any IBP official for supporting Sereno. Because their act of support can be considered as abetting the illegal acts of Sereno, they are upholding the violation of the Constitution by Sereno therefore they are also liable for violating the Code of Ethics,” he added.

Gadon is already facing two disbarment complaints over his alleged perjurious statements in House justice committee hearings on the impeachment complaint filed against Sereno, and a controversial remark about Muslims.
