May, 10, 2016 (Eagle News Entertainment) Quezon City, Philippines. One early morning at Eagle Broadcasting Corporation and I just had a cup of coffee. I then met with Davey Langit right after his hosting gig for Pambansang Almusal.

Medium in height, kind of stocky, soft spoken, and very polite, Langit recounts how he started in the music industry after he gained popularity for his hit “The Selfie Song”  which garnered a million hits on Youtube.

Apart from this, he started as one of the scholars of the Pinoy Dream Academy headed by the legendary Jim Paredes of APO Hiking Society.   “It’s always a pleasure to work with Iconic Jim Paredes of APO Hiking Society,” he said.

He is also a disc jockey of 95.5 Pinas FM and has won the Himig Handog PPop Love Songs of 2016 for his composition, “Dalawang Letra” which was performed by Itchyworms.

Let’s get to know Davey Langit up close and personal

According to Davey, he started playing the guitar at a very young age as a hobby. During college, he delved into songwriting and eventually joined the Pinoy Dream Academy.

Langit honed his talent in songwriting and the rest, as they say, is history.   He even wrote a song for Yeng Constantino, entitled “Cool-Off,” 11 years ago.

In 2013 Langit’s smash hit “The Selfie Song” was initially recorded on his smart phone;  he then uploaded it on Youtube and garnered 10,000 views after a week.

Make sure to catch him three times a week at Pambansang Almusal and follow him on Social Media, Davey Langit via Facebook
