QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Consumers should expect an increase in their electric bills this month due to the crude oil price hike.
“Customers can expect even higher rates in coming months,” said Meralco in a statement.
According to Meralco Utility Economics Head Lawrence Fernandez, the increase will particularly affect the generation charge.
The price increase in the generation charge will be Php 0.42 centavos per kilowatt hour (kWh) to P8.82 per kWH.
