(Eagle News) – Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., had tested positive for COVID-19 but is already getting better, his spokesperson said on Tuesday, March 31.

Atty. Victor Rodriguez, his spokesman, said that the former senator is currently in self-isolation and is strictly following quarantine protocols since he arrived in the country from a European trip.

He said that Marcos received his positive test results on March 28 from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).

Marcos arrived on March 13 but was already not feeling well.

He went to a hospital for a check up on March 14 but because there were so many patients then, he decided to go home.

On March 22, he returned to the hospital’s emergency room as he felt breathing difficulties. He then had COVID-19 testing and was told to go on self-quarantine.

His results came out positive on March 28, his spokesperson said.

Rodriguez said that Marcos had been following health protocols for persons under investigation for COVID-19 since March 14.
