Eleazar sacks two police commanders following arrest of two of their subordinates in buy-bust op

(Eagle News)–The National Capital Region Police Office has sacked two police commanders following the arrest of two of their men in a recent buy-bust operation.

Relieved were  Chief Inspector Abraham Satorre, head of the District Special Operations Unit of the Eastern Police District, and Police Inspector Edward Olmedo, commander of the Pasig Police Community Precinct 9, for command responsibility after Philippine Drug Enforcement Agents nabbed P02 Marlou Roldan and PO3 Mark Vista on Friday, Feb. 22.

“The relief of their commanders is immediate, while internal investigation is in progress. It is hard for me to believe that the immediate commanders of such rogue policemen are totally unaware of their men’s behavior,” NCRPO director Guillermo Eleazar said in a statement.

According to Eleazar, he “expect(s) the commanders to know their men thoroughly.”

At the very least, he said, “the commanders must also observe and note the lifestyles and behavior of their men.”

As for the two policemen who were arrested, he said “it is right that these rogue cops involved in illegal drugs are caught by any law enforcement agency.”

“Criminal and administrative charges will be filed against them immediately, and they should be dismissed from the service,” Eleazar said.
