(Eagle News)—Over 100,000 fuel subsidy cards worth more than P500 million have been distributed under the government’s Pantawid Pasada program, the Department of Transportation said.
According to the DOTr, the 102,372 cards amounting to P511,860,000 were distributed to legitimate franchise owners of public utility jeepneys as of July 2018.
Under the program, each legitimate PUJ operator and driver is entitled to a P5000 subsidy.
The program was conceptualized in a bid to cushion the effects of the implementation of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.
