DOJ finds probable cause to indict Lorna Kapunan for slander

(Eagle News)–The Department of Justice has found probable cause to indict lawyer Lorna Kapunan for slander.

The  two counts of the offense the DOJ recommended against Kapunan in court stem from the lawyer’s statements against University of Sto. Tomas College of Law dean Nilo Divina before the media.

Kapunan had alleged Divina was coddling members of the Aegis Juris fraternity who were tagged in the death of UST freshman Horacio Castillo III.

She also claimed Divina’s law firm paid then-Commission on Elections chair Andres Bautista, the estranged husband of her client Patricia, for a favorable decision on its client.
