Widespread criminal incidents happening in the country are causing worries and concerns. From January to May alone, more than 289,000 criminal incidents were recorded in various parts of the Philippines, according to the reports of the Philippine National Police. 59,000 of these happened in Metro Manila.
There is a 17% increase in criminality compared to the same period in 2013 when 245,000 criminal incidents were recorded. The PNP explained that the rise is a result of their directives in the proper reporting of crimes.
