DFA: Another Filipino drowns in New Zealand

(Eagle News)—Another Filipino drowned in New Zealand, the second such incident in days, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday, Jan. 17.

In a statement, the Philippine Embassy in Wellington said the victim, a 20-year-old, drowned in Whanganui River, 150 kilometers northwest of Wellington on Wednesday, Jan. 16.

His body was recovered the day after.

According to the DFA, last week, student Kent Espinosa, also drowned.

In October, the DFA said another Filipino also drowned while trying to save his nieces.
