Reuters — Ellen DeGeneres thanked U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during her talk show that aired on Thursday (January 19) and played a montage of clips looking back on all the times they were on her show.

The president appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” a total of 5 times, beginning when he was campaigning for his first presidential election. Highlights included a clip of him performing a rap song to Michelle on Valentine’s Day and discussing gay rights with DeGeneres.

The first lady made 6 visits to the show, which included her going food shopping with Ellen, and the duo competing in a push-up competition.

DeGeneres has been an outspoken supporter of the Obamas; in turn, the president awarded her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Nation’s highest civilian honor, in November
