“Up to 9:00 on Sunday, we have found 112 bodies, with 24 already identified and 88 being identified,” said Gong Jiansheng, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee.

“In addition, after identification comparison, previously identified four fragmentary bodies actually belongs to two people, so the death toll reduces two,” said Gong.

“Last night we find ten more corpses, increasing the death toll to 112,” Gong added.

Gong said the 95 people, including 85 firefighter, are still missing.

“According to repeated and careful counting by relevant departments, 95 people are still unaccounted for, including 85 firefighters – 13 commissioned security public firefighters and 72 Tianjin Port firefighters, as well as ten others. The data may overlap the 88 being identified,” said Gong.

More information will be publicized with DNA comparison work going forward, said Gong.

“DNA comparison has very strong scientific and legal characteristics, and we are straining ourselves in the work. We will publicize the information after identifying relevant people,” said Gong.   (Courtesy China Central Television)
