MANILA, Philippines (Eagle News) – Marites Laurente, the sister of Mary Jane Veloso, will go to Indonesia to appeal to its government regarding the death sentence faced by her sister. Mary Jane Veloso was detained by Indonesian authorities after being involved in drug smuggling and was given a death sentence. According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, Veloso’s mother will follow next week to personally appeal to the Indonesian Prime Minister.
