STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK, United States (Reuters) – Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton told supporters in New York on Sunday (April 17) that she was “sick and tired of people running for president who view our country through a negative lens.”

Her remarks came while she was campaigning at Staten Island in the Empire State ahead of the Democratic primaries in the delegate heavy state.

“This nation of immigrants with Lady Liberty in the harbor welcoming people, this place where opportunity is still available, just as you heard Maxine say, everyone of us can tell a story of a hard time, me included, every single one of us. But America has always had our back, are we perfect? No, but are we better than anywhere else and are we already great? The answer is yes,” Clinton told the cheering crowd.

The New York Democratic primary is on Tuesday (April 19) and Clinton has a significant lead in pledged delegates over Sanders in the race for the Democratic nomination for the November presidential election.
