PCG: Over 4,800 passengers stranded in ports due to “Ompong”

(Eagle News) — Over 4,800 passengers have been stranded in different ports across the country due to Typhoon “Ompong.” Below is a list of stranded passengers posted by the Philippine Coast Guard in its Facebook account as of 8 a.m.: The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Ompong” will make landfall over northern Luzon on Saturday, but its effects will be felt as early as Friday, Sept. 14.

Only 17.19 percent of takers of exam for local treasurers pass

(Eagle News) — Only 533 out of 3,100 passed the Basic Competency on Local Treasury Examination in June. The Civil Service Commission said the figure represents only 17.19% of the total number of examinees. Grace Quintana from Davao region and Jed Dares Tonogan from Western Visayas, bested the examinees, with an 89.73 rating each.
