(Eagle News)–At least 250,000 people were affected  by Typhoon “Ompong,” the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Managament Council said. In its 6 a.m. report, the NDRRMC said the 250,036 people translated to 63,769 families. Of the number, the NDRRMC said 148,283 persons or 37,910 families were from Regions I, II, III, National Capital Region, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Cordillera Administrative Region. (Eagle News)–At least 25 people have been reported dead following the onslaught of Typhoon “Ompong” in the country. Duterte to visit areas devastated by “Ompong”

(Eagle News)—-President Rodrigo Duterte will visit areas devastated by Typhoon “Ompong” on Sunday, Sept. 16.Special Assistant to the President Bong Go said the President would particularly conduct an aerial inspection of Laoag, Ilocos Norte, and Tuguegarao, Cagayan  around noon. “Ompong”  made landfall over northern Luzon early Saturday. It exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday night.

Typhoon “Ompong” exits PAR

(Eagle News)–Typhoon “Ompong” has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility. In its official Twitter page, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Ompong” left PAR as of 9 p.m. It said the typhoon was last spotted 355 kilometers west of Calayan, Cagayan and is now headed toward southern China.
