The Department of Social Welfare and Development conducted an anti-street dweller operations in Manila, where 141 street dwellers were taken in by DSWD and sent to Boystown in Marikina. Said street-dwellers received free food and will receive free medical treatment. According to the Asia-Pacific APEC National Organizing Council, the government has set aside Php 10 billion for the APEC Summit, which the government treats as a long-term investment. Said council added that said amount is lower compared to the expenses incurred by other countries that hosted said summit.
