Second alarm hoisted over Marikina River

(Eagle News) — A second alarm was hoisted over the Marikina River on Friday, July 20. Marikina Rescue 161 said as of 9 a.m., the water level was now at 16.1 meters. QC gov’t announces suspension of classes in city on Monday, July 23

(Eagle News) — Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista on Thursday, July 19, announced a suspension of classes in the city on Monday, July 23. A Philippine Information Agency post said the suspension, which applies to both public and private schools, was in view of President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address. Duterte’s third SONA is slated to take place in the Batasang Pambansa.

LTFRB orders Hype to explain alleged P2 per minute of travel time charge

Parañaque suspends gov’t work for Wednesday, July 18

(Eagle News)–Parañaque  Mayor Edwin Olivarez suspended government work in the city for Wednesday, July 18. According to Olivarez, offices involved in the delivery of basic services, emergency preparedness and response, will, however, continue to operate. He said this was to ensure public safety. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration warned of intense rainfall in Metro Manila today.

MMDA lifts number-coding scheme in M. Manila

Suspension does not apply to Makati, Las Piñas (Eagle News)—-The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority lifted the number-coding scheme for private vehicles and city buses in Metro Manila on Wednesday, July 18. In a tweet, the MMDA however said the lifting of the scheme does not apply to Las Piñas nor Makati. The suspension comes amid the monsoon rains that caused heavy flooding in some areas.

Second alarm hoisted over Marikina River as water level reaches 16 meters

(Eagle News) — A second alarm has been hoisted over the Marikina River amid the incessant rains. In a Facebook post, the Marikina City Rescue 161 said water level in the river has reached 16 meters. The monsoon rains have prompted the Palace to issue Memorandum Circular No. 47, suspending work classes in public schools and government offices in Metro Manila.
