(Eagle News)—Work at the House of Representatives was suspended on Monday, Aug. 13, due to bad weather. Scheduled committee hearings, however, will push through. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Monday “Yagi” and “Leepi” will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing rains in several parts of the country.

SC: Executive judges in areas severely affected by rains, floods may exercise discretion to suspend work today

(Eagle News)—Executive judges in areas “severely affected” by the continuous rains and flooding such as Marikina may exercise their discretion to suspend work. This is according to Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio, in a Twitter post on Monday, Aug. 13. Carpio issued the announcement as rains continued to pound parts of the country, with two weather disturbances outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility enhancing the southwest monsoon.

MMDA lifts number-coding scheme in all cities in M. Manila except in Las Piñas, Makati

(Eagle News)–The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Monday, Aug. 13, lifted the number-coding scheme. The MMDA said the suspension applies to cities in Metro Manila, except for Las Piñas and Makati.
