US Embassy, affiliate offices closed on Monday, Oct. 8

(Eagle News) — The United States Embassy in Manila will be closed on Oct. 8, Monday, in observance of Columbus Day, an American holiday. The US embassy said its affiliate offices will also be closed on that day. The embassy and its affiliate offices will open again on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Palparan transferred to Bilibid

(Eagle News)—-Retired Army Major General Jovito Palparan has been transferred to the New Bilibid Prison. Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the transfer took place at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3. (Eagle News) — The new representative of the Kabayan party-list took his oath before Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Paul Hernandez, the fourth nominee of the party-list in the 2016 polls, replaced Rep. Ciriciaco Calalang, who died recently after suffering a stroke. Apart from Hernandez, Rep.
